The Stars & Stripes NOVA Committee is pleased to share the success of our 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held this Memorial Friday at Herndon Centennial in Herndon, Virginia.
Guided by our mission, "Serving Those Who Serve Us," and our commitment to "Leave No One Behind," the event raised proceeds to support our upcoming community initiatives. These include a Thanksgiving turkey giveaway for active-duty military, veterans, first responders, and caregivers, as well as our 4th Annual Clothing and Food Distribution scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2026, at Green Lizard Cycling. SCROLL
We were honored to host distinguished guests, including the Hon. Richard Anderson, Assistant Secretary of the United States Air Force, and the Hon. Kevin J. LeBlanc, Mayor of Herndon, alongside various elected officials and business leaders from the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce.
The event featured a special performance by Specialist Margaret Richey of the Maryland Army National Guard Band, who performed the National Anthem on the electric guitar. Specialist Richey, a guitarist and performer with the Blair Ritch Project, joined the Maryland Army National Guard in June 2025 and is scheduled to attend the Army School of Music in June 2026. She is believed to be the first female military guitarist to serve in this role within the Army National Guard community.
We also thank Joe Bartolo, who came down from York, PA, to help us with the Auction items.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, partners, and the golfers who participated despite the weather. We would specifically like to thank:
